Kenrick Winchester

Born and bred in Queanbeyan, Kenrick is a two-term councillor and the lead candidate of Group F. With strong family ties to the area (his paternal grandparents were raised in Captains Flat and in the Braidwood district), Kenrick feels a close connection to the region that he has proudly represented since 2012.

Kenrick awas school captain of both Queanbeyan East Public School and Queanbeyan High School, where he met and then married his high school sweetheart, Kathy. They now live in Googong and have three young children, who have carried on the family tradition of attending Queanbeyan East.

Kenrick is passionate about public education. He believes schools are at the heart of our strong community and has been the President of Queanbeyan East Public P&C Association for the past five years. He was recently elected to the board of the NSW P&C Federation and is currently working with the staff of Karabar High School to re-establish a P&C there.

Kenrick is vice president of the Respite Care for QBN Foundation and has been working with Paul Walshe and other board members to realise Yvonne Cuschieri’s dream of establishing a respite centre in Queanbeyan (for further info visit http://respiteqbn.org.au/)

A passionate sports fan (and Raiders die-hard), Kenrick is co-chair of the Queanbeyan Sports Council and proudly works with our local sporting groups to ensure they have the infrastructure and support required to be successful. Increasing participation in organised sport, for both junior and adults, is just one of his long-term goals.
